Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 3, 2026 · Last updated: April 3, 2026
Investor Strides (“we,” “us,” or “the Platform”) is a paper trading platform that helps investment professionals build independently verified track records. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We believe transparency about data practices is fundamental to the trust our product depends on.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign up or sign in using a third-party provider (Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft), we receive basic profile information from that provider — typically your name, email address, and profile photo. We do not request or receive access to your broader account data on those platforms (such as your contacts, posts, or connections).
Portfolio and trading data
We collect the data you generate through your use of the Platform, including portfolios you create, orders you submit, trade execution records, position holdings, performance calculations, and generated reports. This data is core to the service we provide.
Usage and device data
We automatically collect technical information when you use the Platform, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. This data helps us maintain, improve, and secure the Platform.
Communications
If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we collect the content of those communications along with your email address.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- •To operate the Platform — including executing paper trades at official market-close prices, calculating portfolio performance, generating verified reports, and delivering them via email from an @investorstrides.com address.
- •To authenticate your identity — through our third-party authentication provider and the social login providers you choose.
- •To maintain data integrity — ensuring that your track record is accurate, complete, and tamper-proof.
- •To communicate with you — including transactional emails (order confirmations, report deliveries), service announcements, and responses to your inquiries.
- •To improve the Platform — by analyzing usage patterns, diagnosing technical issues, and informing product development.
- •To ensure security — by monitoring for suspicious activity, preventing fraud, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
Talent Discovery & Enterprise Services
Key Commitment
Participation in any talent discovery or matching service is and will always be entirely opt-in. We will never make your identity or detailed portfolio data visible to third parties without your explicit consent.
We may in the future offer enterprise services that allow investment firms and employers to discover investment professionals based on performance characteristics and track record metrics. This is central to our mission: helping talented investors get recognized for their skill.
Here is how this will work:
Opt-in only
Your track record exists for you by default. It is private. If and when we launch a talent discovery service, you will be presented with a clear, separate consent mechanism to make your profile discoverable. You will never be enrolled automatically.
You can opt out at any time
If you opt in and later change your mind, you can withdraw from the talent discovery service at any time. Your profile will be removed from discovery results and your data will no longer be shared with enterprise subscribers.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Platform. Each provider acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- •Authentication provider — We use a third-party authentication service to process your sign-in and manage your session. This provider receives your name, email, and the social login token from your chosen provider (Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft).
- •Hosting and infrastructure — We use third-party cloud hosting and database providers to store and process data on our behalf under their respective data processing agreements.
- •Market data provider — We receive market prices and corporate action data from a third-party financial data provider. We do not share your personal information or portfolio data with this provider.
- •Error monitoring — We use a third-party error tracking service that may receive technical data such as IP addresses, browser details, and error context to help us diagnose and fix issues.
- •Email delivery — When you generate a verified performance report and choose to send it via email, we use an email service provider to deliver it from an @investorstrides.com address.
We may also share information if required to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Investor Strides, our users, or the public.
Data Integrity & Immutability
By Design
The credibility of your track record depends on its permanence. This section explains how that affects your data.
Investor Strides is built on a principle of immutability. Once a trade is executed, it becomes a permanent part of your record. Trades cannot be retroactively inserted, edited, or deleted. Performance calculations reference official market data and follow the Platform's published rules.
This immutability is a contractual necessity of the service. The core purpose of the Platform — producing independently verified track records — requires that historical data remain complete and unaltered. By creating an account and using the Platform, you agree to this data permanence as an essential condition of the service.
This means that certain categories of data — specifically, executed trade records, historical portfolio valuations, and performance calculations — are retained permanently as part of your verified track record, even if you later close a portfolio.
If you request account deletion (see Section 9), we will delete your personal identifying information (name, email, login credentials). However, anonymized trade and performance records may be retained in aggregate form for the integrity of the Platform's data systems. We will never associate retained anonymized records with your identity after deletion.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform's services. Specifically:
- •Account information (name, email) is retained while your account exists and deleted upon account deletion request, subject to a reasonable processing period.
- •Portfolio and trading data is retained in accordance with the immutability principles described in Section 5. Active portfolios retain full data. Closed portfolios retain their complete historical record.
- •Usage and device data is retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes and then deleted or anonymized.
- •Communications (support emails, feedback) are retained for up to 36 months unless a longer retention is required for legal compliance.
We may retain certain data beyond these periods if required by law or if necessary to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect our legitimate interests.
We use a limited number of cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Platform:
- •Essential cookies — Required for authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Platform.
- •Analytics — We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Platform is used. This helps us prioritize features and identify issues. We do not use analytics data for advertising.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not serve ads on the Platform and we do not share your browsing data with advertising networks.
Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit, secure authentication, access controls limiting employee access to user data, and ongoing monitoring for vulnerabilities.
No system is perfectly secure. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
- •Access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- •Correction — You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information. Note that trade and performance data cannot be altered due to the immutability principles described in Section 5.
- •Deletion — You can request that we delete your account and associated personal identifying information. As described in Section 5, anonymized trade records may be retained for data integrity purposes.
- •Withdrawal of consent — Where we rely on your consent to process data (such as the Talent Discovery service described in Section 3), you can withdraw consent at any time.
- •Objection — You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address provided in Section 16. We will respond to requests within 30 days, or within the timeframe required by applicable law. For California-specific rights, see Section 10.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provide you with specific rights regarding your personal information.
Do Not Sell or Share
We do not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. If we introduce the Talent Discovery service described in Section 3, participation will require your explicit opt-in consent and will not constitute a “sale” under the CCPA/CPRA, as it will be initiated and controlled by you.
Your California rights
In addition to the rights described in Section 9, California residents have the right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the right to request deletion of personal information (subject to the immutability provisions in Section 5), the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the address provided in Section 16. We will verify your identity before processing any request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
International Users
Investor Strides is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, we process your data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide you with the Platform's services), legitimate interest (to improve and secure the Platform), and consent (for optional features such as the Talent Discovery service). You have the rights outlined in Section 9, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Automated Decision-Making
The Platform uses automated processes to execute trades at official market-close prices, calculate portfolio performance metrics, and generate verified reports. These processes apply the Platform's published rules uniformly to all users and do not involve subjective evaluation or profiling of individual users.
If we introduce the Talent Discovery service described in Section 3, it may involve automated categorization of performance characteristics (such as return profiles or investment style metrics) to make user profiles discoverable to enterprise subscribers. This categorization will be based solely on your trading data and will only apply to users who have explicitly opted in. You will be able to review, correct, or withdraw from any such categorization at any time.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on you without human involvement.
Regulatory Status
Investor Strides is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or any other type of regulated financial institution. The Platform is a paper trading and performance tracking tool. No real money is invested, no securities are bought or sold, and no financial advice is provided. Nothing on the Platform should be construed as investment advice, a solicitation, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
The Platform uses simulated portfolios with virtual capital and official market data to generate performance records for educational and career development purposes.
Children's Privacy
Investor Strides is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification or displaying a prominent notice on the Platform.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
