Compliance

Investor Strides records investment decisions in model portfolios. No securities are bought or sold and no money moves. Everything you record is private by default and invisible to anyone else until you choose to share it. Buy-side professionals have shared far more than this, for decades, in communities built for exactly that. What Investor Strides asks you to manage is small: follow the policies you already work under, and use the sharing controls so a shared record shows your judgment without disclosing current positioning.

Decisions, not research

A record here is a decision: the instrument, the direction, the size, and the official closing price on the day it was made. Each decision can carry an optional rationale, a short note in your own words, not a full thesis write-up. A verified report contains end-of-period holdings, NAV history, executed order history, performance metrics, and any rationale notes you attached. Keep your firm's research out of the notes. Nothing your firm produced belongs on the platform, and the product never asks for it.

The precedent

Sharing investment work outside the firm is well-trodden ground. Professional investors pitch at conferences, compare notes at idea dinners, and post full write-ups in communities like Value Investors Club, running since 1999. All of that moves actual research out of the building. Investor Strides moves a decision and a closing price, and keeps even that private until you share it.

No trading occurs

Each portfolio is a model portfolio: a fixed, notional $100 million, no deposits, no withdrawals. No real money is involved, so brokerage-account compliance does not fall into Investor Strides' scope.

Private by default, shared on your terms

Portfolios are private by default. A verified report is generated for a date range you choose. Our standing guidance for employed analysts is to exclude the trailing 90 days when sharing externally. A decision that is 90 days old is stale information: it proves your judgment without revealing what you or your firm may hold today. The platform gives you the controls. What to share, and when, is yours to decide.

Your part

For most members this stays simple. The record is private, it holds your decisions and your own notes, and nothing leaves it unless you send it. The obligations you already work under, from confidentiality to the rules on material non-public information, continue to apply here as they do everywhere; Investor Strides adds no new ones. This page describes the product and is not legal or compliance advice. If a policy reads as unclear, your compliance team can settle it.

Ownership

The record belongs to the analyst and is independent of the employer. That is the point of the product, and it is why the defaults are careful: private until you share, shared on the dates you choose.
